Saw this in another forum and thought it was pretty interesting...
Scenario: Jack pulls into his high school parking
lot with shotgun in gun rack.
1973 - Vice Principal comes over and takes a look
at Jack's shotgun, then goes to his own car and
gets his gun to show Jack. They discuss hunting,
and the shooting sports, then agree to hunt for
pheasant later in the week at Jack's dad's farm.
2006 - School goes into lockdown, local police and
the FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never
sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in
for traumatized students and teachers.

Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight
after school.
1973 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark
shake hands and end up best friends. Nobody goes to
jail, nobody arrested, nobody expelled.
2006 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests
Johnny and Mark. Charge them with assault, both
expelled even though Johnny started it. Both
students forced to attend mandatory counseling for "bullying" and
"conflict resolution."

disrupts other students.
1973 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good
paddling by Principal. He now sits still in class.
2006 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin and
becomes a zombie. School gets extra money from
state because Jeffrey has a disability.

car and his Dad gives him a beating.
1973 - ***** is more careful next time, grows up
normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.
2006 - *****'s Dad is arrested for child abuse.
***** is removed, sent to foster care, and joins a
gang. *****'s sister is told by state psychologist
that she remembers being abused herself - and their
Dad goes to prison. *****'s mom goes on Welfare.

headache medicine to school.
1973 - Mark shares headache medicine with
Principal, out on the smoking dock.
2006 - Police called, Mark expelled from school
for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and
weapons.

1973: Juan goes to summer school, passes English,
goes to college.
2006: Juan's cause is taken up by state Democrat
Party. Newspaper articles appear nationally
explaining that teaching English as a requirement
for graduation is racist.
ACLU files class action lawsuit against state
school system and Juan's English teacher. English
banned from core curriculum. Juan given diploma
anyway but ends up selling drugs for a living
because he can't speak English.

from the 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane
paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1973 - Ants die.
2006 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Kevin charged with
domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from
home, computers confiscated, Kevin's Dad goes on a terror watch list
and is never allowed to fly again.

cleans and bandages his scrape.

and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State
Prison. School reassesses, studies the "problem"
and decides children might get hurt during recess.
School cancels all recess in the future because
children may take part in "harmful activities"
during recess.

that is a good read...i hate what the world is turning into. Not only are we turning into a bunch of pussies that cant deal with anything ourselves, but we are accelerating the decline in the human races ability to perform physical tasks.
My mom is a grade 3 teacher, and she tells me what the students can and can't do...they can't go on the ice in the schoolyard, where as when i was a kid we played games that involved sliding into each other on the ice, which increases your balance, agility and toughness. They cant play tag, which increases speed, coordination and quickness. They can't climb on top of the monkey bars, which develops strength, coordination and bravery. These kids will all become unathletic blobs that can't play sports or do anything physical. Not only that, but in the middle of an obeseity "epidemic" in the USA, they are thinking about banning recess and phys ed (which is the only physical activity alot of kids get) because of fear of lawsuits. F*** whoever is responsible for this.

wow that is true....
the guy who painted my eagle talon told me he used to race his cars on the roads back in the day and they would drink in fields and of course they were underage. a cop would come out, pour their beer out and leave them be. now its like the cops want to catch people of doing **** like that. they werent drinking while driving, not at all.

That last one is too true. That is why I quit teaching. As a guy, it was just too ricky to keep teaching. I hate it because I loved teaching and I love children(no like that). It just really blows donkey ***** that this country has turned into this.

really, really good post...we should get this on national news so people can look at what we've become...its so freakin sad....
i was thinking about being a high-school history teacher, but with the way that people are, and the fact that i would be called a sexual predator if i had female-student freinds, just kills all desire to be one...
