2010-2011 NHL/AHL/Hockey Season Discussion
Alright, I doubt this thread will get a ton of attention, but I figured it couldn't hurt to start it up.
This thread is for discussing all things NHL/AHL/Hockey related. Feel free to run your mouth about your favorite team, talk **** about someone else's team, or maybe even toss around some friendly wagers on games.

Healthy debate is always appreciated, but let's stick to facts and figures, and try to leave personal attacks out of it. Unless those personal attacks are aimed at Crosby and/or Gary Bettman, in which case, anything goes.
aaaaaand GO!
**** the Pens
That is all

I'd go ahead and check your facts holmes.. Average age is only 30 on our roster and with names like Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Modano, Filpulla, Franzen, Holmstrom, Rafalski and Hudler in the lineup this year, you'd be hard pressed to find a team who's spent their money even close to this wisely.

The Detroit Red Wings, one of the NHL's most successful franchises in recent seasons, captured a handful of honors Thursday from The Sporting News. Defenseman and captain Nicklas Lidstrom was named the NHL Player of the Decade, Mike Babcock the NHL Coach of the Decade, vice president and general manager Ken Holland the NHL Executive of the Decade, and the Red Wings were declared the NHL's Team of the Decade.
So, what facts DO you base your "who's the best" judgements on?

Well of course their successful that's not too hard to agree with, but I was just saying I think they have reached their peak and will decline. Lidstrom is slow now can't keep up with the faster forwards in the game and you have no goalie.
Correction, we HAD no goalie. Jimmy Howard will hold his own this year, mark my words.
Reached their peak? Why? Because they had a rebuild season last year and for once didn't win the Presidents Trophy? (still made it to the second round of the playoffs, despite having 46 million dollars worth of players sidelined with injury, no big deal).
If the Penguins were to ever establish some longevity and/or consistency, I'd be more inclined to take you seriously. However, you just sound like every other Pens fan I've run into since '08. "Wings are old, dead wings don't stand a chance anymore, blah blah blah"
Let's pick this up again come April '11 and we'll see how things are shaking out.

Ha, quit looking at the past, the wings are done with their success for now the Pens are young and only getting better each season, and as long as you have the Hawks on your *** I wouldn't be worrying about the Pens so much.
