Default 240sx with a ca18det

What do you guys think, its got a quite the bit of rust on it from what I can see but I did test drive the car and it pulls well and runs really well. Should I grab it cheap as I can and make an un-assuming "sleeper type car? (I was thinking for now a front mount intercooler, boost controller, mabey just bump the boost up to 12psi and do some local drifting with the bitch, or take it to track days I guess it doesn't have to be the best looking to hit the track.

First off, besides the rust spots, it looks pretty clean for an 89, especially the interior.

Your thread states 240sx as well as the Vehicle details, but he has 180sx **** all over it? You have to put into my language... Is that comparable to taking a EK, throwing a b16 in there, and putting Si stickers/emblems on it? All this 240sx, 180sx, ca18det is pure jibberish to me.

But it would be really cool if the guy actually knew what was wrong instead of "I think...." etc

The USDM 240sx is the same car as the JDM 180sx, minus a different engine. Think Acura RSX/Honda Integra.

As far as the 240, you already know what my vote's going to be, Drew . Go buy it nowish. The cadet is hands down my favorite 240 swap

*edit to unload nissan information:

240sx - USDM entry-level sports coupe, FR layout, KA24E (89-90)/KA24DE (91-94) engine
180sx - JDM entry-level sports coupe, FR layout, CA18DET (89-90)/SR20DET (91-94) engine

nissan engine codes are basically the same as honda engine codes; they basically tell you what the engine is in a nutshell. For example, the mighty RB26DETT:

RB - engine series
26 - displacement; 26 = 2.6L
DE - (D) DOHC (E) multi-port fuel intection
TT - Twin Turbo; single turbos would be one T, and N/A engines wouldn't have any T's at all.

I think one reason alot of the 240's around here will have 180sx stuff on them is because believe it or not there are more parts and resources here for the jdm version then the actual 240sx. I prefer the look of the 180sx bumper on the car also. It would be the same as people with civic's/integras putting say the recaro seats out of an itr, or itr steering wheels/gauge swaps etc. Its just nice to get better parts. Chris good info your schooling me on some of this stuff. From my driving experience I think that this cars larger fuel injectors are the problem/too rich, same reason mine did the stuttering out on hard launches

CHECK this out chris needs abit of work but pretty sweet http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ131536564

Hachi-Roku!!! God I wish I had $3500... I'd be driving up there for it tonight.

and you forgot the link for the supra lol

Also, I'd tend to agree with you on the injectors, especially since he went back to a stock turbo but still has the bigger injectors. It sounds like a fuel delivery issue anyway.

yes chris I am seriously considering picking up that ae86 also lol. I also ran into this 240sx here

http://forums.780tuners.com/showthre...hreadid=101236

while Im not extremely familiar with the setup, I do know that 260 whp on 9psi is extremely impressive, Im wondering how reliable this setup is? O yes the link for the supra here below, its a imported car from the USA its really nice shape, auto and low kms as well no rust plus its a targa top. WOuld be pretty fun for summer even as an auto I suppose

http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ131294936

Its fully legal in Alberta, inspected and ready to go/be insured! I might buy it. I think the guy said this ae86 needs an intercooler setup (not a big deal) new seals for the turbo and the water pump leaks sometimes. Seems all like minor fix ups and I may even be able to do those things myself on the car.

The headlights on that s13 are freaking awesome. Not sure how I feel about the hood being cut like that though (wouldn't a bottom-mount manifold have worked a little better than cutting the hood?). The supra's not bad, but it being a slushbox kind of kills it.

As far as the Hachi, that's what I was thinking; the work that needs done to it would come out to like $500 if you did the work yourself. And if that's the price hachis are going for up there, it looks like I'll be making a trip up to calgary this summer after all

http://forums.780tuners.com/showthre...hreadid=100027 Also thinking of buying this guy's eg, and just selling mine instead of doing this type of work myself. This is a really good guy that is an honest seller and he's got some nice mods already done (spoon exhaust, buddyclub cams, interior stuff, the exterior isn't bad and he gave me a picture of the rust its an easy fix. I might see if I could get some $$ knocked off his price and grab it next week. Ive been considering this one too http://forums.780tuners.com/showthre...ighlight=civic or this one http://forums.780tuners.com/showthre...ighlight=civic what one do you guys think looks the nicest for a civic choice out of the 3?
