RIP...

that is one of my biggest fears, having my car fall down on me. Some people rip on me for my 5-10 "check routine" to be sure the car is supported correctly... much better to be safe than sorry.

Before going under my car, I always shake the hell out of it to make sure the jacks are not lose.

I will repeat again, someone needs to take those roundbased jackstands off the market, that is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of.

yeah....we read it the first time...

gsumano, careful when shaking the car like that. I do the same thing, and had my hand slip one day, which resulted in this nice little dent in my fender...

I wonder what kind of system that craftsman jack with the stands integrated into it uses to lock the stand part. i don't really understand the technology.

I use the same method everytime, jackstands, 2 hydrolic jacks on jacking points, wheels and tires, and if high enough ramps. I had a freind die in 98 when a car dropped on him.

Thats what my guy has that I take my car too to get it worked on, I dont work on my car by myself for these types of reasons, and lack of tools. Hes got his own garage, spent about $60,000 for everything, pretty impressive
