Am I wrong?
is there anyway for you to find another place and sublease your current apartment? If living with him is too unbearable and he doesn't even make an effort, then the dog issues would be considered just cause to terminate lease and seek someone else to take over the lease. But you can't really force him to move, only help yourself out of that situation.
Also, strictly speaking if he took money for looking after your dog, he's responsible for losing your dog (because he accepted the responsibility in exchange for gratuity). But if he did it as a "favour" to you, then you can't really sue him for money.
as for the injured dog, it's really a 50-50 in terms of who would win in a small claims court. the judge might just say it was a dog fight and your dog simply got the worst of it.
so seriously dude, I'd consider simply move out or something. If he's that big of a jerk, even if it's less than 10 months, it's not worth the aggravation and the risk that he might do something worse. sometimes it's not about being mean or nice, but simply protecting yourself from idiots.

He did it as a favor.
Anyway, roommate #1 is apparently moving out. He just showed up, grabbed a few things, told me he'd call the landlord tomorrow and be back periodically throughout the week to get the rest of his stuff. So now I get to find a new roommate since I don't feel like paying half the rent on a 4 bedroom townhouse.

i dont mean to sound unhinged or anything, but if somebody lost my eskie (chloe), there would be blood. butt prison be damned, my dogs are my children. i wont go on vacation because i dont trust anybody with my husky or my spitz. i know the room mate situation sucks, and not creating more tension is pretty important, but for him to be so nonchalant about the loss of a dog.... im not joking. ask anyone who knows me. dont **** with my dog.
