Default HELP, MOTOR SWAP GONE WRONG!

My name is Eric. I own a '91 Honda Civic Hatchback DX, i recently scrapped the pooh 1.5 non vtec motor and tranny in trade for a nice shiny 1.6 vtec d16z6 sohc motor and tranny. Quick list of upgrades purchased along with new motor (all are compatible to the 93 not 91 motor) chrome high flow intake manifold, stainless headers, high flow cat, cat back exhaust, high capacity fuel rail, fuel regulator, 1" throttle body spacer, short ram intake, programmed ecu vtec 4400 - rev limit 9600, stage 1 cam, stage 1 clutch, chrome underdrive pulley, msd distributor, msd wires, iridium plugs, front sway bar, short throw shifter. OK now here's my problem. I bought a complete wiring harness for the 93 motor that plugs up fine to the motor. However, it has nothing that goes to the ecu or distributor. So i went on ebay and asked what i needed, this guy sells me a obd1 to obd0 jumper harness. it fits great on the ecu but to nothing else. i am getting very frustrated and dont know what to do. all i want to do is make this damn thing run. can anyone please tell me where to go next, what to do? any help is appreciated.

14s? You'll be lucky if you run low 15s

damn that is discouraging. i was hoping for better. some ******* with less mods than me is claiming 14.3 on another website. i guess he is full of ****. well i get home from offshore on tuesday. hopefully i will have all the kinks worked out in time for the track. on wednesdays, No Problem Speedway in Bellrose, LA has tuner dragging where anybody can test their skills. i am hoping to make it in time. anyway, i will take plenty of pics and print my slip so nobody thinks i'm full of **** on this. we'll see soon enough. thanks for the reply.

Not sure about your motor problem... as for the track time: I'd say 15's sounds about right.

bout ur motor problum, here is were u sould start, get the entire engine harness and ecu from the car the motor came out of which was either a civic ex, or si. u need the ecu from that car becouse the harness an ecu is alot diffrent from ur 1.5 because of the vtec u now have. that sould make it run. also with the mods u have, u will be in the 14.3, trust me i kno my hondas

Default motor swap finally goin right

ya thanks. i have it under control now though. my partner wired up a home made wiring harness courtesy of autozone parts and a good ole haynes manual wiring schematic. she runs like a top too! i didnt think he would get it but he did. as far as the computer goes, i already bought and installed an aftermarket plug and play ecu for my motor, it works fine. everything seems to be going smooth so far. last thing i have to do to get on the road is weld up my exhaust, i bought a 93 exhaust so we are modifying it to fit my 91 hb, which does not seem to be a problem so far. also rigging up something for my clutch pedal. i had cable clutch system in my 91 hb, converted to hydraulic clutch since that is what kind of transmission came with my new motor. lots o' choppin goin on under the hood and addin new parts. went to the junk yard and picked up a hydraulic fluid reservoir, slave cylinder and master cylinder off a 97 acura cl. it fits and works like a charm. only need to hook my clutch pedal up to the system. thats the hard part but it should be on the road soon. have pics, and am offshore again, so i will see if someone out here has a scanner so i can show my progress so far. this has been a long process. i was under the illusion this would be a quick swap but i am going on about 3 weeks now. lots of delays due to waiting on shipment of parts, and moving into new house, also single father so have to chase 3 year old while working on car so this aint as easy as i thought, but it is going smooth. even had to fab up some new motor mounts from scratch, they ugly but they work. didnt feel like spending the scratch on more parts or waiting so my partner borrowed a welding truck from work and we hooked it up cajun shade tree style. as far as track time goes i do hope for 14's that would be sweet considering total investment so far in motor is only 3 g's (including cost of motor and tranny). i am going to allow break in time for my new cam though, once broken in i am goin straight to the track. more pics will ensue....

I'm dropping a JDM B16A1 into my 90 HB with a intercooled turbo kit and I'm hoping for low 14s, low 15s to high 14s sounds about right for your motor

hey homie, you might be hopin for low 14's but i think you are not giving yourself enough credit. our generation of civic hatchbacks is by far the lightest of the bunch. and that factor coupled with the fact of you tossin in a boosted and intercooled dual overhead cam motor.... if you do it right you should easily be running 13's. i dont argue with with the guestimates for my car but you should be doing real well.
