Is that true? I wonder what the overall demographic in Long Island looks like though. I'm from the west coast so I don't know much about the northeast but it sounds predominantly white out there anyways so couldn't that account for those statistics?

Long island is created from the white flight during the 50s and stuff. It is a place for all white rich people. Property tax here is out of the roof, and everything here is too expensive.

I think that it is interesting and humorous that, when you click the link, you find two African American officers pictured prominently in the recruitment ad.

 

yea its all recruitment tactics.
They have few black and hispanic cops, basically filling in the quotas you know. So they dont seem racist.

people are here are very nice and friendly though. But this whole cop ordeal is very su$$pious(why the censorship). Needs to be fixed, for a better america

Long island is a very safe place. Our cops make 100k and crime rate is 1/2 of average crime rate in the USA.
Its true where there are high concentration of whites, especially rich whites, crime rate is low. A positive stereotype.

ok so Tuesday night I took the agility test for the second county I'm applying for and passed it easily. I actually knocked off close to 2 minutes on my mile and half run from when I took the agility test 10 days earlier for the first county I'm applying for. WHOO WHOO!!!!!

My next step now for the second county is too meet with my background investigator on November 25th.

I'll let you guys know how my polygraph test goes on the 28th of this month for the first county I'm applying for.

out of curiosity, what was your 1.5 mile time?

 

when I ran it on October 4th I struggled with it and completed it in 12 mins 51 secs (I needed 12 mins 51 secs to pass, talk about cutting it close) then I started working out everyday and running everyday and took it for the second county on October 14th and completed the mile and half in 11 mins 11 secs!!

not being an a-hole cop doesnt mean not busting ppl for street racing.........street racing is very dangerous and illegal. Lots of people get killed every year from street racing. IMO not being an a-hole cop means not stopping every import car that has an exhaust on it and busting the drivers ***** for having a modified car and along the lines like that.............
