I think they are going to start in the $26k to $28k range. It is BMW's econo series.
You could pick up an S2k for a couple thousand more
Ya but thats a Honda notsexy BMW.

i love bmw's. maybe thats why im a member of m5board.com...
but as for a 1 series M, it will never happen. added to that, the m1 was always a supercar to begin with so to make an M out of an economy car...well, they wont.
the new m3 hasnt been released in the US yet either...but it is sick.
Hate to correct things but they are going to make a one series M version. Second what is so economical about a twin turbo 300hp car? If your shooting for economical model the TDI is the best bet.
Ok let me rephrase it. Entry level car. BTW just because it is a TT 3.0 does not mean it will not get great milage(if you keep your foot out of the gas). My car gets around 22-23mpg in the city, 32-35mpg on the highway and it runs in the 12's trapping 110+mph

BMW > Honda anyday of the week. Why drive a car in which you've gotta rev past 6000rpms to get ANY power out of it? I for one, would rather have a nice bit of torque all the way through the gear.

Not to mention the interior comforts and amenities of a BMW are far superior to that of a Honda

On top of that resale value and such. Now something like a S2k is in fact better for some what of a puriest or somebody that just simply wants that certain car but comparing a S2000 to even a 3 series now from a unbias point of view lets you see that BMW is a better company on more fronts than Honda. I mean the S2000 is great but looking at it in it's true light lets you see it is impracticle, bad on gas, uncomfortable, not the safest, and the value of the car is on a steady decline. BMW's hold their value much better, are among the absolute best on crash test results, and offer many more option/comfort items.
