my friend fear nothing. if it makes you feel better just put a CC with the lowest limit, i have one with only $500. you can pay via money-order or other methods but only if the seller accepts them. usually the sellers only accept paypal wich is the "default" payment. fear nothing and go ahead and create and account on paypal.

the only thing with Pay Pal is to become "verified" you have to link it to a bank account, and some people wont ship to unverified paypal accounts. so if you dont have a paypal acount i would email the person selling the item and ask if they accept money orders. it takes longer to get the item when you use money orders.

i use paypal, but i don't have it verified yet, and alot of people wont ship to unverified paypal accounts... so what i plan on doing is setting up a secondairy account and using that for paypal only. and you dont need a credit card for a paypal account if you link it to your bank account

well..i have bought many things off e-bay without pay-pal or credit card, i just got a account, and when you buy the item they send you a e-mail of how to pay, i always pay by money order.
You got to make sure they accept money order, most do, and it costs you like $10 to get one and mail it, but i feel safe that way

I havent verified my pay pal account either and so far no troubles.. i havent verified it because it requires me to go to the bank and waste my time. I think ebay is so massive that they are going to be way more secure than anywhere else...

Ebay and PayPal are both very good about security measures. Someone hacked my ebay account a few months back and ebay caught it within a matter of minutes. They blocked all of the false postings and alerted me. I had to call to reset my account which took about 15 minutes, but it was well worth it to feel secure. As for PayPal, I've never had a problem with them, and its very convenient. I have a verified account and I set it up from the comfort of my computer chair. No need to make a trip to the bank ask long as you've got a check or an account stub.
