Default Canadians! Tinted Windows: Anyone get a fine AND get a Notice & Order for Inspection?

I'm in Vancouver and I got busted today for having tinted windows on the driver/passenger side windows. Got hit with $109 fine for the tint PLUS I got this "Notice and Order" Level 2 to take the vehicle to a designated inspection facility for compliance.

Anyone ever get this? Can't I just take the tint off and not deal with having to go to this inspection facility?

How did you guys handle this?

I have, but I am in the states.

Got hit with a $106 fine and inspection needed within 7 days. I had to pull the tint off, drive to the station and show them I no longer have tint. $175 wasted on getting the tint installed about 3 months prior.

That was about 3 years ago, I get less attention from cops without tint, so it will stay that way .

If you can go to court and talk to the judge, do it. I would imagine this is a free option since you are dealing with the law. Fighting for your own defense should cost you nothing. Every ticket/fine i have ever had regardless of what it was for i took it to court. Do some reaserch on it yourself before you go to see the laws on tint. If you don't have illegal tint on your car fight it man. If it is illegal then fight for your cost. Most fines will be reduced just due to the fact you went. The average person just sends a check. Good luck.

Police are pure evil.

Watch what you say about law enforcement. They are here to protect. Yes, sometimes it may not seem like it, but they are trained to protect everyone. However, lets end that convo before we have another long discussion about this.

If you want to fight it, you will probably be charged a small court cost fee, well, that is how it is like for me. I pay about $7 or so in order to go to court. At times, it is worth it. However, check your local tint laws. If you are not in violation, fight the ticket. If you are in direct violation, I wouldn't waste your time. Tint is tint, there are no ifs/and/buts about it IMO.

i had got a ticket for tint and took it to court and had it dismissed, the law here is the cop has to put your license on the inside of the window and if he can read it the your legal. the cop never tested mine

not much you can do, bc law states no tint on the two front windows. you could go try to fight it and possibly win, but if you have to take time of work or something, its not really worth it(if you know its illegal). cause you could then have to pay plus loose the days pay.

haha, id probably fight it anyways, so theres a chance, i wouldnt have to remove my tint.

going to the inspection station, is basically saying youre guilty, and have removed the tint.

should say, youre still gonna have to pay the fine, cant just tell the occifer youre sorry, and get it waved.
