Chevelle Or Nova?
okay guys so as a end result of my last ticket, my Mom has decided Im not going to do anything else to the civic to give it anymore power, which I am okay with I brought it upon myself. So the new plan is I am going to finish fixing all the little broken things on the ciivc. And then she has okayed me to purchase an old muscle car to start fixing up. And I have settled with the fact that I am going to try and buy either a nova or chevelle. I ahve researched both cars a little bit but I need some help will someone please enlighten me on the differences of the 2 cars? This car is mainly going to be a my new hobby as I will be selling my Yamaha Banshee and using the money from that to finance the project. I will keep the civic as a daily driver for the reason of gas economy, the muscle car will be simply a toy.
They never had a similar body style. If you want bang for the buck I suggest a mid 80's olds cut supreem. Really it depends on what you plan on dumping into the project in the end.
go with 69 or 70 chevelle nice car one of my favorites...
And yes the Nova had a similar body style to the chevelle and if im not mistaken it was pretty much same year 70-71-72 ..But if you do roll with a nove like Marty said Chevy II is the way to roll

Chevy II = light weight. You are going to spend a butt load on a 67 through 72 Chevelle or a 68 through 72 Nova. These cars go for 10's of thousands of dolloars restored and you will be lucky to crap a junker that has been sitting for 10 years in a old mans back yard.
i am not a big fan of muscle cars, i am more of a street rodder guy, i like the looks of late 20's ford pickups. get it real low with a nice flat head v8, or a desoto 331 hemi. but the chevy II would be the way to go
I'd get a '66-'67 Nova but it will cost you a left nut! The 68'-'74 Nova looks similar to the Chevelle but I think they may be little lighter. The '69 is probably the most liked of that body style and will also cost you a lot of coin. I want to do another car again someday and love the 66-67 body. Good luck in finding one...just make sure you have it looked at by a pro so you don't get screwed! A lot of those old cars are covered in mud (Bondo)!
I would get a Chevelle, but not because i know that much about Chevelle/Novas but b/c i saw an orange Chevelle one day and loved it. Personally i'm more of a late 60s Mustang Fastback, but that will cost you the left (and prolly the right) nut.
