Default close call..

i was comin back from a friends house and it was raining about an hour before and stopped but was still real wet on the roads. i took a turn to get into my area where i live and almost lost it. i guess there was a lot of oil and stuff from cars sitting since it is a turn from a stop light. i take it a little fast(about 20mph maybe?) and front wheels start spinning and then my back end whips out and now im almost completely sideways on a 2 lane wide street with curbs on each side...counter steered and gave a lil bit of gas and got it straight just in time, phew...scared the crap outa me, completely caught me off guard...

i think its a good thing i autox cuz if i hadnt, i prolly woulda froze and not known what to do and prolly woulda ended up over the curb...which woulda been reeeally bad considering my parents are outa the country for a couple weeks and woulda been hell...

ahh just needed to vent a lil, was kinda shooken up since thats never really happened to me before other than in racing..

I would think that it would be better that your parents are out of the country since if something had gone wrong, you could have it fixed before they get back and you would have a car to use while you fix it.

for the inexperienced....if it hasn't rained for a good while, oil coats the entire road. Then when it rains you have the following formula; water-on-oil=no traction. Not meant to be flamming, this is a real tip to help you remember when it begins to rain, the roadway is very slick.

You are one of the luck ones.People do it all the time.I have seen people jump curbs and go air born I also have seen them flip.Good job on the recovery though.
