Obviously don't do it from 1-2. My F4i tried to pick the front up when you shifted into 2nd with the clutch, I can't imagine how it would act if you didn't use the clutch. But upshifts are freakin' cake on a bike after 2nd gear. Try it sometime, it's pretty awesome. I promise nothing bad will happen. Just put pressure on the shift peg while you're still on the throttle, then back off the throttle a little fairly quickly (imagine the opposite of a rev-match downshift) and it'll pop right into the next gear, nice and smooth.

It makes it nice when you're cruising on the highway or something and don't feel like holding the bars with both hands

i accelerate, and do the opposite of a throttle 'blip', i completely let off the throttle, shift up and get back on the throttle all in less than a second, and the shifts are smooth as can be, and the bike never even hiccups, i LOVE it.. i never use clutch when up shifting unless im going slow through a town or something...

in my old 98ex i used to shift without a clutch constantly it always just slid right into the next gear nice n smooth i think it's perfectly fine as long as you're being gentle with it.

Pretty much. If it feels like a "normal" shift, you're good. If you feel resistance and still try to force it into gear, you're going to do damage, even if it doesn't grind.

sonofnothing: what do you ride?

i had a concours z-1000 (kawi) it was a 2000 with 30k on it and it ran great but the carbs were always a bitch...

i now ride a 2004 katana 750. i got it cheap, and put two bros carbon exhaust, new pilot road 2 meats, new clutch, new brakes, smoked windscreen... and shes a beauty!

also have ridden my dads mint 82 CB750F SS.. that bike is cherry, and only has like 8000 miles on the tach.

i shift with no clutch anytime im riding through the gears at a medium pace

(Originally came in Winning Red, then I laid it down, painted it teal/white, then got tired of that so I murdered it out )
