Yeah, the crank walk became a problem on the 2G's, along with unreliable harmonic balancer belts that had a tendency to snap and rip the timing belt in half.

My friend's bro had a '97 RS auto. That thing barely lasted to 100k. Tranny oil leaks, engine burns and leaks oil, steering rack went, ecu had to be changed, and much more. The funny thing is that it all happened almost in the asme period of time. The car is not driveable of course so he sold it for $500

Ok, Chuck gave me the link to this thead. I am Dave. I have a 1992 Galant VR4. Original long block. Its the AWD turbo model for those of you non-Mitsubishi guys. The car definitely isn't stock. As for a few mods...

HKS 272 intake and exhaust cams
FP Green turbo (57 trim compressor wheel/TD06H Mitsu turbine wheel)
Griffin FMIC with HKS end tanks, custom IC piping
Tial 50mm BOV
MAFT Translator 3" GM MAF
780cc PTE injectors
Walbro 255HP fuel pump
ACT 2900lb clutch and Fidanza flywheel
Apexi SAFC
3" tubular turboback exhaust with o2 eliminator

I run 23 PSI daily. And when I say daily, I mean I drive the car over 300 miles a week. With the clutch and the cams, its not too streetable, but its the most fun I've ever had with 4 wheels. I live in a pretty nice area, so I'm always trying to race Porsches, Ferraris, old Muscle cars, etc. People just don't expect to see this car do what it does best. I absolutely LOVE annhialating someone's pride and joy car and they try the ricer flyby and I just speed back up before they can pass me. The car definitely isn't slow. I'd love to post a picture, but I'd rather keep surprising everyone. But I will say.. it does have all badges removed, stock wheels, a black FMIC, and a stock looking exhaust tip.
