So I know this mexican that lives in a nearby town, and in my opinion his car is the Webster dictionary of RICE. This great mexican or latino as he refers to himself drives a 1998 Civic Hatchback, He sports white rims that he rattlecanned himself on a babyblue paint job, inless primer is considered a color. Every time I see this car it has a different part in primer because he is always wrecking into something. Not to mention the tail-lights are like the icing on the cake as he shows off his chrome euros. And so finally I get the chance to look under his hood one day he was telling me how his car was so badass, well when I asked where his parts came from and how much he said ebay and about $300 between intake header and exhaust. So Im thinking possibly all counterfeit parts. And the funny thing is he was calling his SRI a CAI yet the filter was located inside the motor compartment. But yeah its funny listening to him tlaking the big ****. Oh and someone ask him why the hell he took all the interior trim out he said "it's all about performance, it increased my 1/4 mile times by 2 sec." So anywasie tell me what you guys think when I get the chance I'll get some pictures of the car.

HAHA "its all about performance." That guys a joke, and that interior must of weighed quite a bit to drop his 1/4 time 2 seconds

 

Haha, yeah I know a Chinese guy (and by that I mean he's got Chinese ancestors, but I probly know more about China then him) who's got a Celica (one of the ones with the plastic wheel covers and the plastic exhaust tip built into the rear bumper), and he's obsolutely convinced that the only way to get performance is weight reduction. He came up to me one day and was like:

"Tristan, I heard you got a turbo for your car. How much power are you expecting?"
"Oh, you know, somewhere around 200."
"That's cool. How much does one of those cost?"
"I got mine brand new for about $3000."
"Dude, you know you don't need any of that turbo or supercharger, the KEY to getting better 1/4 mile times is two words. Weight Reduction. And it's free."

Ok Chen, you go take out your seats and carpets and we'll race and see who wins.

Yeah as speedstream said this car does have positive potential, with some major changes. Heres a little rundown of this guy. The first day he had it he screwed up the tranny by shifting into 1st going 40. Few days later blows the motor. He has continuously asked me to race him and he wants to do it right through town I keep telling him the only way Im going to do it is out on a country road where there is like no traffic and thats pushing it. And then he asked me again if i was up for it, i had just rolled 120,000 miles so i was due for a timing belt change when i told him that his reply was "whats a timing belt?"[:@].
