Default Do you think WWIII is very near?

Recent World Wide events such as Russian vs Georgia conflicts have awaken up the West vs Russia threat. This is the closest conflict between US and Russian since the end of cold war. What are you thoughts?

What is Russia's problem?!
They're already the biggest country in the world, do they honestly need MORE land?

I hope you know that IF something were to happen it would effect every nation in the world in some shape and form.

If something does happen i am moving to canada as so i reach the states. I do not want to come back to this side of the world again. I need a break from deployment.

But also you have to figure this out where the hell is the US miltary already located in the world. WE are spread way to thin as of now. So Im hoping I do not have to get involved with someone elses affairs again.

You're overthinking what happened there. Russia just acted silly without publicizing their intent. What would you do if your neighbor would suddenly commit genocide??? Stand by and wait?

No no no, I am not blaming anyone for that war for anything. I'm just saying, russia is pretty much giving an ultimatum to US saying chose "us or them". And US responding saying we will stand by Georgia.

I agree that Georgia started this and Russia is just defending their people in the begining, however now it might be a different story

Yea it's just kinda scary thinking about how if our president does/says something wrong (very likely, as always) it's uncertain whether the situation could escalade to something else. It's just the uncertainty of it all that's startling... especially when Russia agreed to a cease-fire but then proceeded towards Tblisi. It's hard to tell what Russia is planning or what they're real intentions are.

With the level of nuclear readiness worldwide? I seriously doubt it.

Unless somebody could simultaneously take out America's ability to launch nukes from every site they control; who wants to get themselves blown into the ocean?

Nah, it'll be USA vs terrorist warfare from here on out.

That being said - thank god I live in Canada... We just don't **** anybody off enough.

As far as Tbilisi is concerned - Georgia MUST be bad... They're the subject of pretty much every Tom Clancy videogame.
