Default drifting

when i watched some drifting it sounded like they were bouncing off the limiter. are they actually hitting the rev limiter?

yeah. some cars have to keep the revs high to maintain the drift.

The rev limiter is there so you don't blow the engine. It's still not good for the car, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

yeah leaving a car on the rev limiter for a very long time technically wouldnt be too bad but still not good. it may not blow from the prolonged high revs, but u coulddo some other minor damage that in time can lead to blowing the motor.

but drifting, or any kind of major automotive sport, is not cheap. even amatures go thru motors, tires, body parts, etc.. quickly and have things replaced all the time. its something that u have to expect or u'll just be pulling ur hair out asking why..

drifting is cool and all but now that ive learned a lil about cars ive learned its possibly one of the worst kinds of racing for your car.

-messes up alignment
-wares out rear brakes
-REALLY wares on your engine

but hey one kind of racing isnt hard on ur engine?

p.s. its all about rally baby! lol
