EK is the basic reference to any civic from 96-00... yes you have an EJ6, but if you are buying parts get EK parts

i think the Ej8 is your chassis code. not sure though, someone correct me if im wrong.

Same reason my car is an EH2, but everyone calls it an EG. it is just what the vehicle is designated in the Vin number those number and letter signify the line,body, and engine type

EG, EK, DC2 are all codes for the japan versions, there is 1 eg in the U.S. and that is the 92-95 civic si, and the only ek is the EK9 type r
