Ok, this has almost nothing to do with cars at all. I guess that is what the "Off topic" forum is for, though. Also, it's pretty personal, so I don't suppose anyone is really going to give a poop. But... this is exciting for me and I wanted to share. So there.

Preface:
I made the mistake of getting engaged on Christmas of 04. The engagement lasted until last January 18th, when I broke it off. Unfortunately, we had purchased a house last July. When I broke off the engagement, he moved out of the house, and I started paying for pretty much all I could. He was kind enough to help me some with the mortgage... cause if I couldn't pay that... that's bad.

(Totally edited out a long paragraph describing how poor I was for threeish months. Lets just say I was stupid poor. Got the power turned off at one point... yay for showering by candle light!)

Fortunately, a friend of mine who has been looking to buy a condo just got one, and I was able to move into it, allowing me to place my home on the market. That was three weeks ago.

That weekend so much happened and I don't know how because it seemed like it went by in like five seconds. Everything happened soooo quickly. In between me moving out, my ex and I met with our real estate agent and signed appropriate papers to list the house. As I was moving, I talked to a neighbor who's friend was looking to move into this neighbor hood. (It's a rad place to live.) That friend of hers brought her realtor and husband to look at the house on Sunday.

Monday, the house went on the market. They made an offer that day. It was almost acceptable. After negotiations we got it to acceptable. The next day we got ANOTHER offer. It would have been a better offer, but they wouldn't have been able to close as quickly, and that would mean I'd have to pay mortgage which I couldn't afford, so we continued with the first offer.

Anyway, to make an already way too long story a little bit shorter, the house sale should be closing (finalizing) on the 15th. I will be free. I'll have money to actually spend on... whatever! Now, I am not the type who stresses... about anything. It just ain't me. When the power was shut off, I scrounged up some money, took my showers by candle light and kinda delt with it. No biggie. But despite that, being so close to getting rid of the house has made a huge impact on me. I didn't realize how the stress was getting to me until I lost it. It's an amazing weight that's just... gone (almost. There are 12 more days for something to go wrong, but I'm positive.)

I'm going to get to start working on my car, I'm going to get to go out again... most importantly, I'm going to be able to pay my friends back for all the mooching they've been letting me do off them. That's the best part right there. I'm going to take everyone out for crab with my first free paycheck.

Anyway... I know that this was mighty personal, but I'm really really really excited and happy, and I just wanted to share it. I want to shout it to the whole damn world.

I also want to give everyone a hug and say that I love you and you are all special in your own way.

And I want curly fries.

That's the plan I have two debts to pay off, then it's one mod per paycheck... yay! (give or take, for small or huge projects)

Fixed. (and thanks )

And yea Remmy. Debt is the suck. After I have all my finances straightened out, I'm going to see how much of each paycheck I can dump into a Roth IRA. I'm super pumped about that.
