ethernet cable cat5 or cat6 ??
I currently have wireless networking, but for gaming its not so good. You need to have stable connection. Well i have decided to run cable to my computer that is in the basement, and looking what to buy found the CAT5 or CAT6 cables... is there a big diference? or what you guys recommend? thanks for your replies...
cat6 is basically replacing cat 5, but theres not much difference. i know at best buy all we sell is cat6 now. if ya already got cat5 just keep using it. if you dont have anything, and you go to the store, most ethernet wire will be cat6
cat5e will still handle gigabit, same with cat5, however cat6 is just a higher grade cable and the diehards believe that they will get 0.0001 more fps w/ cat 6, soo they buy it...
generally it will just reduce latency between your computer switch/router... but it is soo miniscule its like less than 5 miliseconds... but if your still running coax... then yeah i'd upgrade
otherwise buy some cat5e that someone's tryin to liquidate cheap
