well i thought that the third was by far the best one. thats for a coupld of reasons, one there were much more actual drving than CGI(computer generated images) driving, second driving a fast car or making it look fast is not hard, trying to capture a good drift on camera is pretty hard. third the actors actually did some of the driving and trained with the drift champions at irwindale raceway. I say that was a pretty sweet setup they had.

hated the first 2...esp. the second one, wth were they thinking?! the 3rd is alright.. plot was lacking, cars were nice, drifting parts were nice but at points takin to far(like chase scene and they just have to drift...if u wana get away fast, u dont drift..). they did help the whole car scene and all but i think they pointed it in the wrong direction...just IMO..

ORIGINAL: Roto

1st and 2nd did the worst favor to our hobby. Didn't see the third one and not going to.
I fail to see your point. Yes, TFATF was weak when it came to technology, but it helped to open the eyes of many people to the potential that they had in their driveway. Sure, street racing is a no-no and so was the glamourizing of it, but if you'll remember, it wasn't all go-lucky, everybody drives away happy bull either. 2F2F is my least favorite movie of the 3 with the overdone cars and absurd plot. So, for TFATF:TD, I had low expectations, but the movie really shocked me. Attention was taken to keep everything as realistic as possible, and there are some genuinely bad cars to be seen. Plus, Hollywood actually grasped the emerging popularity of drifting before it was proven to be commercially viable to a mass audience. (Oh yeah, Brad from Home Improvement has to pay the bills somehow!) My point is this: The more people are interested in your hobby, the more companies are going to be interested in providing products for your hobby. I'm willing trade having more product availability for having to search all over the place for parts any day, even if it means that I have to sit next some 16 year old driving a primered Ford Probe with a wing bigger than my house at the next intersection I come to.

The Fast and the Furious helped out the companies who sold body kits and all that jazz. After people went and saw the first one, people started to mod thier cars heavy, so the movies did do something.
