Default Gen II SRT-8 Dyno numbers.

Replacing the 6.1 liter Hemi V8 for M.Y. 2008 will be the next generation 6.4 liter "392" Cubic Inch Hemi V8. This engine should make its debut in the next Gen 300 SRT8, then following it will be the Challenger SRT-8 to compete against Fords GT500.

508-Horsepower - - - 562-lbs of Torque

HEMISPERICAL BLOG, Los Angeles - - Well, finally someone has dynoed the next SRT's engine of choice, the 392 cubic inch Hemi engine or known as the 6.4-liter Hemi. We can thank Hot Rod Magazine for the unleashing the real truth in the performance number game.

If you remember at last year SEMA show, this MOPAR giant was nestled in a 1970 Dodge Challenger and was revealed to the public as a the next crate motor. It was advertised at 510-horsepower and 510-pounds of torque. The dyno revealed the engine was making at peak, 508-Horsepower at 5400-RPM and 562-lbs of torque at 6400-RPM. Talk about impressive numbers.

Specs on the engine includes, a 4140-forged crank, 4340-forged I-beams, forged pistons, CNC-ported [though not a full hog] Hemi heads with a 2.10/1.60 valves, 10.5:1 compression, and a hydraulic roller-cam of undisclosed specs.

Are we excited? I am at the prospect that the SRT in-house engineering will be using this motor in the next GEN SRT8 models.
