Getting a Paypal account.
I'm about to set up a account on e-bay to sell things, and for this I need to set up a pay pal account, I'm a little iffy about putting my credit card number on the net, but its such a big thing that I think its pretty trust worthy, anything tips to keep myself protected? or any problems people have had with it? so I don't make the same mistake.

Thats pretty much all you need to know. I've had thousands of dollars of mine go through paypal. The paypal debit card is really nice to have also.
Edit: Forgot to mention they also seem to be the more secure of all my card companies. The minute I used the card in a different state on vacation I got a call a few hours later from a rep to confirm the charges. Didn't get anything like this from any of my other companies.

Yeah...I dont do transactions online any more without paypal.....I didnt use mine for several months and then used it like 3-4 times in a couple hours and they shut it down and sent emails to verify that it was me and that it was me...was a pain in the butt to have it shut off...but it was for my protection and once it was verified everything was cool and it was opened right up again.
Paypal is absolutely amazing. It's the only way to do business over the internet.
I've had two problems so far where an item wasn't shipped but I had paid for it... one through ebay and one through forums. Both item disputes were handled by Paypal and came out in my favor.

i've been selling on ebay & using paypal for about 2 years now , never had a problem
if you get a few hundred in your paypal account & dont plan on using it for a while ,just transfer the money into your bank account until your ready to use it
also i ship alot of stuff overseas, & accept only paypal outside of the U.S. , helps cut down on scams
