Gotta love these corporations.
As some of you may and or may not know, I work... rather worked for Circuit City for eh, about 2 years now. In that amount of time I went from the bottom of the totem pole to senior salesman and had begun management training.
If any of you read the newspaper, about a month ago Circuit City laid off 3400 workers. Today they laid off quite a few more (don't know exact numbers.) I was one of them. Essentially they laid off most of the managers, and the lowest paid seniors were placed as "supervisors" while the higher paid seniors were let go. Today I drove the usual 30 minutes to work at 7:30 through rushour, only to sit in a room with other associates for about 2 and a half hours only to be given a 3 minutes sit down in which they handed me a severance package and walked me out of the store.
****ers.
Those who were "offered" supervisor positions were basically told that it was either take the position or resign. So now they all essentially have twice the responsibility with the same pay and a dead end job. Cool huh?
So basically I'm planning to just file for unemployment for the time being, see if I can find another job, and then go back to school in the fall. Kinda sucks, but whatever, I'm hitting the dyno tomorrow shooting for 300whp so right now about the only thing I can think of is laying two huge lines of thick smuldering rubber down the road through 2nd gear.

I worked at CompUSA and they closed all the stores in my area and I also lost my job so I know how you feel. I only worked there for 5 months thought but I haven't found another job since. I was going to apply at Circuit City but then I heard that they were also going down the crapper.
