get some vhb tape from 3m tell them to scrape the crap off of the cross member oh and if its glass to vhb it will never come off (vhb tape= double sided foam tape that’s dark grey) allot of cheep wings are attached with it so the user will be familiar with the use you may need to do some research to find it its kind of a specialized thing

The only street sign that made it through hurricane Andrew was held on with vhb tape and I am quoting the history channel

Anyway, vhb tape was already considered... But I was thinking of maybe rigging up some sort of bracket that attaches to the crossmember with self-tapping metal screws.
