I would not go as far as sterilizing them, but giving them some kind of fine if they do have a kid and then putting said kid into some foster family and forcing the bad parent(s) to help support said kid.

Forcing people to get sterilized is not really ethical in my mind. It's pretty degrading.

I think that when you go to the Goverment office to get welfare they should sterilize you.Or if your children get placed in property of the state.

 

Many of us agree because we are talking about the scum that ACTUALLY have kids to gain more wellfare money from the government. I am not kidding, it happens often in my town. It got to the point to where they spend more monmey now with a credit car system so financial aidees dont buy booze.

 

How can one define a "bad" parent. What if a parent is bad, but at one time they were an excellent parent? What about parent's who are great, but previously were awful? The subjectivity of the matter flushes the idea down the drain. We have Child Protective Services to guard kids from bad parents, not sterilization.

 

and the workers of cps are underpaid and overworked. that what my girlfriend does. she works right now 9 am to about 8 pm everynight and is still behind in her work, and she works every weekend too. and there isn't enough of them to do the job. each worker has about 50-60 kids they need to take care of and visit every month, the system helps but i sterilization would work.

 

This practice is huge around military bases. Women might have kids with several different soldiers to get checks from the government.

 

I work at a grocery store and these people buy $500-$600 dollars worth of groceries with their link cards in one day!!

I rest my case

 

Two problems with forced sterilization. First, what is the criteria for being able to reproduce? Employment only or type of employment? Will a five figure income suffice or is six mandatory? How about school grades, or physique? Is looks a factor?
Second, no politician in his or her right mind would even think about backing this bill because it would be political suicide. I have no problem with our nation feeding it's hungry, in a country a wealthy as ours there's no excuse whatsoever for people not having anything to eat. My problem is people not having to do anything for their food. I say if you want to eat then grab a shovel & work for it. Bring back the WPA, so we get at least a little return on our tax dollars.
