Well as you may or may not know, a buddy of mine and I started a Lawn Care and Landscaping business. We started and just handed out fliers like whoa......We had 1 36 inch mower and a ghetto ramp onto my dads S-10. Now we have our own truck with a plow, a 5x10 foot trailer, a 36 inch exmark metro, a 48inch Scag and lots of other stuff. Can you believe we spend $500 on a freaking backpack leaf blower? The things got 71 CCs. Currently we have 49 residental accounts ranging from a $25 weekly cut to a $60 weekly cut. We mow on Wednesdays and Thursdays.......yea we wake up at the grundle of the am. Its a hard business, as we lost a few customers, but we keep our heads high and gain a few more to make up for it. I just want to show that its not that hard to start your own business, you just need the heart and dedication. Working for yourself rules......esp when its just 2 days a week. Im still in the process of getting my companies T Shirts made, but maybe Ill send a few freebees out.......If anyone was wondering why I havent been posting a lot lately......the above is where the majority of my times has been going. Just thought Id give an update so you all know I didnt fail miserable, or die trying........lol

 

nice... you get any extra cash in your pocket or are you guys like still putting everything into the business to get it bigger? you still got a another job or just the lawn care business now?

Central NJ. We have our accounts spread out over 3 towns that border eachother. Riceburner we are all profit now, everything is paid off.






I still waitor at a restaurant fri and sat but I dont have to........its just for xtra cash.

Yea man we just bought an 89 F250 w/ 77K.......came with a plow.

 

The business is bringing us lots of bills.........but theyre the ones with old dead Presidents on em lol

 

u guys seem to have it goin on now get with some local buisness and try to get them on your payroll

 

We are working on it, but we want to become an LLC before we do that, and we need to get some insurance. Its only like $800 per year, but it takes time. LLC stands for Limited Liability Corperation for those who dont know. Basically it coveres our asses. Say god forbid we plow a parking lot, someone swirves on ice and hits a kid and kills him, and we get sued. They can only sue us for what out insurance policy is........which will most likely be a million dollar policy........and at most they can get a million dollars from the insurance company, and sell the company for what its worth. They cant go after personal assets.


We know something like that is rarely going to happen, but small business's look for insurance when they hire you.......basically without insurance u wont get commercial accts.
