House Mods, pics, 56k...maybe?
So, as some you know, I recently bought a fixer-upper of a house. We have been doing little cosmetic changes here and there, which was all we thought the house needed. Turns out, some rooms are a complete disaster, and have proven to be a little more challenging than originally anticipated. I'll save you the long winded, cry-*** story and just get straight to the pics...
Btw, this post is only about the master bathroom.
Master Bath when we bought the place. Yellow carpet ([:'(], on a few different levels..), cheap *** plastic tiles on the walls, ****ING WALLPAPER holding a ****ty *** curtain to the sink, wtf?!? And an overall discouraging bathroom experience to say the least..

Yes, they were nice enough to leave their damn toothbrushes here, wierdos...

So, we ripped up the carpet, only to find some nasty tiles, and rotted through boards underneath. Which resulted in ripping up the entire floor down to the sub-floor, and puttin in new plywood.

^I've drank a LOT of beers in that bathroom over the past month..
After putting up tile board all the way around, trimming everything, tiling the floor, and painting the walls, this is the result. I am very happy with how this turned out. We still need to take care of the shower, but thats not a huge deal. You'll also notice a few other small things that need to be done, I guess I was just a little anxoius to finally have some "after" pictures. I need to put the lightswitch cover back on, the vent cover for below the window, and we are going to sand and paint the horizontal trim white as well. But, heres what she looks like as of now.

Let me know what you think. Lots more updates to come once this bathroom is 100% finished. Lori is currently painting the kitchen, and once that's done i will lay in the hardwood floors. We are also altering the basement, which is going to be unreal when its done. Keep an eye out for more threads like this.
Thanks for lookin

And yeah, some of the things these people did to this house are just...."something else" [sm=alcoholic.gif]

ohhhh yeah i can relate. im living in this huge house right now that (normally) costs around 600k. well fortunately (and unfortunately) for us, when it went on the market, it was trashed. the people who lived here before us had 3 highschool daughters and the dad was never home because he was constantly on buisness trips. so that leaves this virtually single mom to watch 3 higschoolers. well...you know how us highschoolers are...parties and all that. we ended up buying this house for about 350k (which is by no means a small amount...but still phenominally lower than what it should be). we've lived here for 5 years and there are still rooms that we havent gotten to yet. we're in the middle of doing my bedroom, weve done the living room and dining room, we're doing to kitchen, weve done the family room and both of my sisters rooms, and we have yet to get to the master bed/bath rooms, basement (which is going to be a bitch and a half to do since over half of it is finished and we need to fix it all up), my bathroom, and our music room (its a 6 bedroom house, ones in the basement that my dad uses for his office, another is on the main floor that we keep all our music stuff in...our family is very devoted to music...and four upstairs, mine, master, and one for each sister). so yeah...i can deffinately understand what it takes.
