didnt read all the in between posts but a few thing I have to say...
racing is such a HUGE adrenaline rush. I dont know anybody who wasnt nervous the first few times at an actual track. Many things you arent used to and theres always stuff in the back of your mind like staging and weather you are doing somethng wrong or not. Everyone gets the shakey leg the first few times... everyone.
a 19 second quarter mile... everyone knows that your car is faster than that period. Its not like anyone will truly think that you ran all out and the best your car will ever do is a 19.
The best thing in your situation is to be running high horsepower cars. This way nobody expects you to win and you can race with less pressure. Now if you are racing a stock ford ranger on the other hand and lose then thats when you might get some grief and laughs from regulars.
Take it for what its worth... the more you go the better you will get. If you take it as something fun then you will do alot better than being super nervous telling yourself you must run a certain time.
