I was walking out of my apartment complex today and lit up a cig and saw a bench (waiitng for my brother because it was raining and he couldnt use his moped to go to school) so I sat down on it. I looked over to my left and saw this little brown thing. And I was like " Who the hell would leave a f***ing brownie on a bench!?" Then I realised it was a friggin bat! I was like "COOL!". So, I ran to my dads truck (car is still in the body shop) to get gloves and a small box and scooped him up. Now hes sitting in my closet full of catalogs hanging onto the box chillin. It is def. hurt. It dont look to happy. I named him Pedro.

bats carry many diseases....

 

I had gloves. And they dont normally carry diseases. Its more of a myth. They are more prone to carry rabies though. But I doesnt act like it does.

Well, I have a lunch meeting with a bat rescue lady today. Shes said they will try to get it back in the wild after it has healed. If it cant, they will keep Pedro and use it for educational purposes, like show it off in classrooms and stuff. The thing is smaller than my cell phone. Its a tiny little Charlestonian downt town bat. I dont know the breed of it though. But they do wonders for bug control downtown. Thats one of the reason why I saved it.

 

Awww...poor little thing It wet its box too.

Good move getting it to the bat rescue lady. She'll have the know-how to treat a wild animal and try to get it back where it belongs.

I was LOLing at the brownie comment. Yeah, why would someone leave a brownie on a bench?

Bats rock! Theres a bunch of the little guys flying around by my house almost every night, its kinda fun to watch them.
