What state do you live in? I have a connection in MI. If you're close enough to drive and pick up, it might be worth it. Intrest is the key when buying a car...too high of a rate=too high of a payment. Right now, you wont be able to negotiate on the price either, you will be paying sticker...period. Let me know...

hi, yeah, i bought it. i'm paying like 475 a month for mine aside from the 250 in insurance per month for it because its a new car. i bought mine for 19,990 + 550 (destination and handling) for a total vehicle price of 20,540. with tax it hit something like 23.300 and then i added an alarm system for like 400 more. all in all it hit like 24,000. the secret is to get pre approved at a bank so that you can get the lowest interest rate before hand. thats whats most important. and if your approved for lets say 24,000 don't tell the dealer. thats a secret you keep until the day you pick up your vehicle. sometimes the dealer tries to jack up the price.

in terms of finding a good dealer, let them come to you. i used www.cars.com to look for a list of dealers in my area. i then asked for a quote online from all of them. the next day i got calls from all of the dealers within a 150 mile radius or me. you have to be willing to do that because it increases the chances of you getting a better deal. after you request a quote all you do is shop around for the cheapest deal. i think that i got one of the best prices for a honda civic si 2006 in san diego cause most of the other dealers are asking at least a 2000 markup.

if you need more help finding a dealer you can try temple of vtec. they got a list of east coast dealers that are offering msrp.

i hoped i helped you.

oh, and i don't like posting pictures of myself. its jus one of those things. i'll take better shots of my ride and post them up when i have the chance.

ok kewl.. yeah i got on honda.com..and tryed to get quotes from the local dealers.. all the pittsburgh ones are doing mark ups.. the one local one is trying to charge me an extra 2000 because i want a black one..and he would have to special order it.. tax title and registration the quote is 21,234.50 i doubt thats legit.. the ahole wouldnt even let me drive it.. but mi sounds like i could do that... just put like..300 miles on my car first 2 days i have it though!!! cause im in pa.. hope this contact will be good come summer???? cause ive decided to beat the heck out of my 93 for now getting to work...if i find a job.. and then im taking a gis( geological instrument surveying) course here this next week to get certifications to do gis.. soo each survey is like a day long and i get like 200 dollars from it... soo hopefully... i plan on throwing down at least 5000 on the car.. my bank does really well for loans... my friend bought his eclipse for like 10 grand.. and his payments are 80 dollars a month bi monthly.. and hes got like a 17 % interest rate... soo its not all that bad... i would probably put it in my garage and not get insurance on it yet.. just not register it...
that way all my money can go right in to payment

damn, i hate mark ups. there was a time i was thinking to myself what was the highest price i would pay for a si. my answer was 25,000. you jus have to set a limit to what your willing to pay for a si. i'll admit to you those dealers are evil. they try and take advantage of the fact that you want it. so you have to juggle what you want and what your willing to pay. honda isn't helping either. i heard that they are only making a few si's.

i believe that the interest should be no more than 7%. if you pay more than that you are going to pay alot in the long run. go through alot of banks and see what you can get. once you find one and get approved for the loan then you have the power to negotiate with the dealers. you can tell them straight up that you have the money and that you are ready to buy it from them. then give them your list of demands. i demanded them to give me a plain si without anything on it. no special tires or anything like that. all you need is the car. you have to show them that your in charge, they should be fighting for your money.

i'm really wishing the best for you. from one honda civic owner to another. oh, and good luck on getting that gis job.
