I'm absolutely with civicboy01...To live a happy life you don't need to ride a bike or drive like you're on a track. Granted, sometimes I go a bit fast, and I break it out on the highway, but I try to do it with no cars around.

A friend of mine and I went for a drive once, he was going down the road that ironically, I now live on, and we were going around a corner at about 90, not even 100 yards from my house, there was a saturn taking the turn a bit too fast as well, and he was in the middle of the road, so were we. My buddy over-corrected it, the truck went sideways and we went off the road. We flipped 4 times, noze-to-end, and later found out that we almost cleared a 7-foot ditch, the front bumper just barely clipped it. Thank God we were both wearing seatbelts. We made it out with whiplash, and I got a bloody lip. It was the greatest adrenaline rush of my life, and I definitely do not want to repeat the experience. If we went off the road 10 feet before we did, we would have ended up in a tree, if we'd slid 10 feet further, we would have ended up in my neighbour's trailer. There are maybe 2 fields on that entire road, we ended up in one of them. For a year and a half after that, I was afraid of going over 60.

I work at a motorcycle shop and I see all sorts of : from first time riders dropping it in the parking lot to people hitting a 1ft tall curb going 110- people running from the cops doing 150 and not getting caught!

It's your environtment, not you. You could be Chad Reed at glamis, but when a sand rail hits you because THEY didn't see you, your not so good are you??

My Service manager is the president of a stunt club called SOCAL5150RIDERS he rides a 03 954RR all done up witha stage 2 power commander kit, engine cage, 12 O'Clock bar, the whole nine yards, two brothers exaust-header to mufflers... I know whatsup.

All his buddies come by all the time broken arm, leg, wrist, totalled bikes, dented tanks, even broken front forks!(snapped in half)

Moral: You can't controll your environment!

hey leviii, no i sold it to one of the mechanics at the suzuki shop for 1500 to cover what i owed and get a couple bucks back, it sucked but i am not in a position to invest time and money into a bike right now. the bike itself was immaculate a 2002 gsxr 600, only had k&n, new grips and the rotating tail lights, but it had never been layed down, it only had 6500 miles on it. i seriously wanted to cry, i probably would have if that wasnt the least of my worries right now (getting used to tragedy).

as far as bike safety subject goes... it is true bikes are the most unsafe mode of transportation on the planet. you CAN be the best and still get hurt on one, and probably will. i also do not recommend it to anyone without experience & interest in them, THEY ARE DANGEROUS. but, if you ever make the mistake of getting on one like I did and you have a penchant for thrill seeking as I do, they are like crack. there is no other feeling in the world to me that compares to riding a motorcycle, dirt bike or crotch rocket. the sheer acceleration is exhilirating, i cant explain it and probably shouldnt so no one else has the desire to get one. but as for me, I will be getting another one once i'm on my feet again. definitely a honda this time though, i want an RR any size. harassed too much by my friends for owning a zu zu.

Here is another person I knew that I went to another school with. She was the cutest girl there. she died when her 4runner flipped on her after she fell out and killed her. Her own father was the first to find her an hour later[X(]
