bunch of little nit-picky points

1) a 128kbps AAC is equivalent in quality and content to a 192kbps mp3 (nifty features, the AAC takes less space, and stores more information)

2) windows media player should allow you to sync to an iPod (note, the last time I actually used wmp was a while ago)

3) wma is quite possibly the worst format for music... there's a reason it's commonly used, the file sizes are small, but it is not as capable of containing information... order of goodness .wma<.ogg<.mp3<.aac<.wav wavs have the largest file size and can maintain quality when going rom cd to portable digital file

4) there's a reason that iPods don't accept .wma formatted, it requires some extra conversion to produce decent sound, and file sizes are comparable to .aac (also, why in the hell would the use a microsoft format when they have their own)

5) there are other solutions to syncing ipods, even in linux, google (your os) + syncing iPod

6) the zune while supposed to be the competition to iPods, will have a major downfall you won't be able to use it on an airplane

7) on a typical computer, itunes uses less memory than wmp... typical mp3 player usage (least to most) winamp (old versions) < itunes < wmp < realplayer

also, i love my iPods, and my mac, and if it weren't for my job having given me a dell laptop, i would never use windows

Ive made some peace with it. I found that it will take my entire library of electronica stuff. But the problem is half of it is wma and 'protected'. I was going to attempt to work with it again but My cousin with me knowing plugged up her ipod and then took the damn cord along with it [:@] No I just hav this small blue paper weight.

solution to protected content: burn to cd as "audio cd" re-rip into mp3

or find yourself a useful format converter

Its not that, its just I didnt realise WMP automatically sets wma as protected content. THe new version allows you to rip in actual mp3 format. So not protection is used
