Job interview advice.
So I got a call on my way home from school today from a manager at staples saying that my application pleased them and the would like to have me come in for an interview. So I am pretty excited. Now the big question, I have worked on a farm my whole life and at a food-stand in a race track, neither of them were jobs i interviewed for. So this is my big question.....what on earth do I wear? I dont want to wear like a collar and black pants and over dress, but at the same time I dont want to wear my casual dark jeans and t-shirt and underdress. Any suggestions who work at a similir store who wants to give me advice? Any suggestions would be helpful by the way the interview is this thursday.
yea just dress clean. i would also have say just be relaxed, and try not to be too nervous.

Funny thing, I was just interviewing today (got the job--woo!).
Anyway, do you REALLY want the job? If so, I'd actually wear nice slacks and a nice shirt to go along with it. Nice shoes as well. This will show them that you are taking the opportunity seriously and want to present yourself in the best light possible. Jeans are very, very casual and I wouldn't advise wearing them. Just smile, answer all their questions, and make it clear that you're excited about the job. IME this helps the interviewer to tell if you're there just to get a paycheck or you actually have an interest in the company.

Don't worry about being nervous, all employers expect it...just don't be shaking and $hit
Make sure u are easily approachable and open to opinons
remember they want you, so they are already intrested, they've probably been through tons of bull$hit apps.
other than that, ask Q's if they ask u if u have any (even if they're dumbass q's)
U'll do well, goodluck
Yeah, over dressing is better than under dressing, I'd say a nice shirt (probably not white) some slacks and decent shoes.
The most important thing on an interview is self confidence (look the person in the eyes the whole time, answer any questions in a positive manner, etc.) Don't come off arrogant though. Second, like Shelly said, is making sure they know you want the job for real and not just the check, even if that's all you do want.
Most places like Stapels if you get a call in for an interview you're probably pretty close to the position so just relax and you'll more than likely get it.
Remember... confidence!

Okay so any advice on a place like G.I. Joes? I just got a call from them at like 5pm saying there interested in interviewing me next week. I would love this position becasue its one where they train me about snowboarding and skiing equipment, and then on the weekends they would bus me up to Mt. Bachelor and have me sell equipment at the ski resort up there every weekend. I would like this job but I think a lack of experiance will get me cut from the running for it. But either way I would love either job.
Other then the dressing part, be sure to look them in the eye, dont let your eyes wonder like you dont care, seen it done. And I like to add "thanks for your time" when leaving. And if their showing you how to do something or whatever and you know how to, dont just stand there like an idiot, finish their sentences. It shows you understand and care. You gotta know when to do this though or youll **** em off. haha
