Default Laid off from Crystler plant

I worked at trellborg automotive for 6 months a plant that makes parts for new ford cars.I never was late, never missed a day and made over 130% part quotea for the week.Yesterday after working a full week they laidoff everyone with a clock number in the 2590 and up which included me.With no warning no seperation just our insurance will be through the end of the month.I am in shock right now and still like wow right now.All I can say Is there loss and some other companies gain for me and my other laid off co-workers.They say the lay off is cause lack of work as crystler and ford doesnt need are parts right now.F****kford, Honda for life................................

This happens a lot actually. I'm assuming this is your first factory job? My friend used to do nothing but factory work and this is a common practise. When work slows down they will lay a bunch of people off (typically only newer workers, like in your case.. but not always sometimes they'll fire more) which isn't technically firing, since getting fired typically means they wouldn't hire you back. Then a few months down the road when work picks up again they'yd give him a call and he'd have a job again. It's really crappy, he eventually got used to the cycle, but it was hard cause he had a wife and kids etc.

Bummer dude....if you have the money, start saving to build your own garage and work on peoples cars through independence. Thats what my guy does that works on my car. Even though his whole garage setup cost $60,000....he makes a good living and is a great mechanic. Just an idea....think about it.

I'm lost. You got laid off from a plant that makes Ford parts but you got laid off from a "Crystler" plant?

Anyways, that sucks. You should write a letter and complain about sending jobs overseas.

I heard that people who got laid off from the big 3 moved down to AL to work for Hyundai.

Anyways, that sucks.
