YES! THEY ARE ILLEGAL IN CANADA.
All Evo's are illegal in canada. I've heard diff storys but i think its cause they have the intercooler upfront and they got damaged when the car was tested at a 5mph bump. What can you say, Canada is just too safe. And I've heard its cause the intercooler is upfront stock and the insurance chumps dont wanna pay for it when you bump into something.
See wrx's are legal cause their intercooler is uptop, no chance of damage at 5mph.
Eather way no insurance co. in canada will insure an Evo making them illegal. Look it up man.

Ok ya on further research I found that every Evo model is illegal, we are ok with the plane jane lancer but no evo's....This sucks!!
Guess im stuck with my 102hp Civic, or saving 60k CAD for a wrx.....
