I've had the same damn problems. Along with the chat freezing and booting me.

I thought it was because I'm running an old version of aim for mac...

I don't think I can get trillian either.

 

oh sorry i meant by getting windows messenger its way better than aim but for the hcf chat you have to get aim or trillian

 

Doing absolutely NOTHING different than I have been doing with POS AIM, I was able to log on this morning . This leads me to believe that it was a server issue with AIM, maybe with authentication. I started to feel paranoid like you guys didn't want "geezer man" around anymore!!
