I've just found this '88 turbo supra with '95k miles. The guy is willing to trade it for my bimmer, which has 225k. Both cars are 5spd, and I'm just trying to decide wether it's worth it. Even the bimmer dudes told me that it could be worth it, but I need some more opinions. What would you guys do?

 

It depends on the condition of the supra. In fair condition it's well worth it.

 

the supra is way cheaper though. The bimmer that I have retails around $6k and the supra goes for around $3k, so I'm thinking of saving up some money and just buy the supra instead of trading

 

sell the bimmer, then buy the supra. thats the 1JZ, right? those things are sweet.

 

yup, thats a 1JZ. The guy was actually going to trade, I'll ask him how much cash he would add. If he gives me at least a grand, I'll take it - that way I would have money to swap the head gasket for a metal one, and get a boost controller, and a bigger BOV

 

mmmmm, i like those old school turbo cars that didnt get the respect in the 'States that they deserved. 1st gen 300zx, supra turbo, Starion, even those really rare celica all-trac turbos, thats one of my favorites.

 

originally, before even getting a bimmer, i wasnted integra, but now I'm in love with RWDs

 

yeah, i want a RWD project car, if i drove one all the time though, id get so many tickets. i cant resist the urge to do the whole slide-around-the-corner-like-an-******* thing. sometimes im even tempted to try it in the work truck, but i know my boss would happen to be at the intersection and see me. and i doubt it would do it anyway, heavy *** ford F-250 powerstroke with a big *** steel dump-bed.

 

Hell yeah man! 80s sports car imports is where it's at. I miss my 300ZX. I'd jump on that Turbo Supra in a heartbeat.

 

if u dont think its worth it, trade and ask him for 1000...see what he says.
