lol well at first this rich girl gets one ( RIACH BIATCH ) yea anyway, and then a very popular girl head cheerleader and all that is cousins with this rich girl gets the same thing and they dont like each other and they start bragging about mines better bla bla... one has flakes in the paint and one doesnt, sunroof, leather, rims and all that bs. i just told them to line up and race and the rich one said that b**** dont wanna mess with me. i just shut my mouth right there. now that my cousin is gettin one, which neither of the other 2 girls like, they are all gonna be pissed. i think its gonna start a buncha stuff between 3 girls with rx8's. time will only tell. and oh yea, my cousin got the 197 hp rx8...the other 2 girls have the 240 hp ones.

RX-8's are great and all (fast too) but from what I understand they arent favored because they are a royal pain in the *** to mod.
yes, they are...so are all OTHER rotaries.

i didnt think rx8s where that popular, in my school it was the jetta, beetle, and v6 mustang.

There is one fatal flaw in all rotaries: NO TORQUE.
Why?
Simple: No displacement. 1.3 liters doesn't get you a whole lot of oomph, especially when there aren't any cylinders...
that and the way they distribute power over the entire face of the rotor, so a lot of the power is pushing nearer the center of the rotor, giving it less leverage to move the crankshaft (?) whereas a piston engine places most of its force with the end of the conrod, giving it a little more leverage to push.

they werent that popular. all 3 of these girls are in my grade and all 3 got rx8's. i think if i had $32 - $35,000 to get a car id choose somethin else. thats just me though...i mean there are alot of BETTER LOOKING cars ( what girls look for ) and most definately better performing cars for $32,000!!

the wankels are coveted because they do make great power, and are in a small package, but without a turbo, the RX-8 never gets out of its own way. though its probably one of the best chassis' out there for handling. perfect F/R weight distribution, and the engine is mounted really low in the bay, giving it a really low center of gravity. THAT is the true power of the rotary. I love rotaries, but NA, they arent much for straight lines. Oh, and BTW, you might hang with the 8 with your couple of bolt-ons. they are tested at low 15s to high 14s. I hung with one VERY well, and he dropped on me when i was at about 3500 in second, and i didnt downshift for some reason, so i was a bit short in the torque department too. he never left my side. if i had downshifted, i would have walked him.

im plannin on getting some other engine mods later on. aem v2, greddy evo2, dc sports header, aem pulley kit, aem cam gears, aem fuel rail, few other minor mods...
