motorcycle license
Right on. Well, since that's the case I'm sure you already know about the class you have to take because you're under 21. It involves an in-class session and either one or two classes with the bike. The place I took it cost me $150 for everything. Both class types are cake and it would take a special kind of stupid to fail either (like this broad who didn't put her kick stand down and the bike went over). I don't know where in Cali you're at, but if you're in the San Diego area I could get you the name of the company that provides it. Good luck with everything.

i would just rather pay a ticket for not having a license then get killed trying to take the test.
To do that with your kickstand, you would have to be pretty stupid b/c there is a kickstand switch(at least on my '94). If the kickstand is down, once you begin to release the clutch the engine will shut off. And how can you die taking the test? You don't even go that fast and there are no other cars. I think that a big part of the danger with bikes is other drivers on the road.
MSRP is around $8000 brand new. For a 2000 to 2006, they cost anywhere between $3500 and $7000 depending on the milage and condition. I wouldn't buy a CBR600 unless it was an F4i (2001-current) because the F4is are fuel injected and I don't think I will ever buy a carbed bike again.
One more thing. Tires are a bitch i've found out. I've been looking for some tires for my POS Ninja. Its like $300 installed. I was like wtf??? I paid $600 for the bike. Moral of the story: Don't buy a bike with tires that are worn to hell.
