Well, I go out this afternoon to do some Mother day shopping. I am in a hurry so I am driving faster than I normally would. I am behind this big rig (right on his butt which is NEVER smart). Just as the rig goes under the light I see that it is turning red. There is a cop right across the street. So I slam on the brakes at about 55 MPH. I lock up all four tires and slide about 25 -35 feet. The whole cabin of my car smelled like burning rubber and there was smoke billowing up from the tires. The cop was looking at me as was just about every other car within sight. I felt like such a dumbass. Now there are some nice black lines in the road. I am proud of my car though. She stopped really quickly without going sideways at all. It was a nice stop, but I did mess up by locking them up. Oh well. I need to practice that more. LOL

 

Ouch poor tires, and right in front of a cop? lol i would have loved to see the look on his face

i think the cop understood the situation with the rig in front of him. and it's kinda hard to not lock em up without abs

 

He just looked at me and then looked away. I thought for sure I was gonna at least get a verbal warning or something. Nope. I just got a flat spot on my tires. LOL

I will take talking to a cop for a minute or two over skidding around 30 feet into an intersection. I didn't like it all that much. ROFL

I am gonna try to get over there tomorrow and snap a pic of the black marks. I will post them up tomorrow afternoon if I can get over there.
