i just got my resonator installed, and i wanted to hear how my car sounds (beautiful =) so, i tell my nerd brother to rev it to 3 then 4 then 5....i see the brakes flickering....i go to him, dude it's the one on the far right. so he does it kinda like i asked. but i think he took it higher....so i said loud and clearly....was that at six or seven?!? and he redlines the ****ing thing to seven and it slaps the redline twice the whaa whaaa, until i screamed stoooooooooooooop you ****! .....so no i am feeling a little stressed out....did this **** up my car in any way, in the long run? did it **** it up period? will my car be okay...should i kill him?! please respond =)

 

the rev limiter is there to stop your engine from being damaged, so no..you're fine. Just dont let your brother near anything that burns any type of fuel again

and no that didn't damage the car....I hit the limiter all the time when autocrossing...believe it or not, but it's actually hurting your time around the course less than upshifting if it's right beforebraking...

that is so true...tons of times i bang the limiter because it's faster than shifting and then braking again.

[sm=signs007.gif]. if its just for an instant its not a bit deal. like they've said the rev limited provides some protection. just remember that dosnt mean u can bounce off the rev limiter all the time and think everything will be ok lol.
