So this girl bought a 06 EX and I went to the club with her last night.. When we first met up I was checkin out the car and asking her a little about it. I was like damnn I wish I had a new Si. And she goes, the Si is not as good as my car. I was like...um the Si comes with 197hp. And she goes yea but its not as nice on the interior. (Do all Si's come with leather now or is that an upgrade? Cause hers wasnt leather), So then I asked her if its DOHC cause I honestly havent checked out the EX much at all, just the Si. And she goes..."Its vtec, whatever that is..." So I kinda told her wat it is....But it kinda made me sad that such a sweet car will probably remain in its original form forever, and not be given the chance to shine, like it definitely can. And I really like the back of the car.. I think Ive only seen a couple pics of it, but it looks pretty cleann. We left the new Civ at a hotel and rode in my other friends car, and when we came back to it, my friend who was driving pulled up to an Accord cause she thought it was the Civ. The sad part, so did the girl who bought the EX.

Well that was my first real experience with the new Civs, pretty nice. Sorry if this post was kinda pointless, but I was just shocked that a girl who seemed so excited about buying her car knew nothing about it. OO and this kid is coming today to see my Si. Im nervous!

I don't think that the SIs come with leather, the RSX Type-S does. The SI does have an option for nav, but so does the EX.

 

i hate when people can spend so much money on their car and not know jack sh*t about it. take my gf for example. love the girl to death, but her parents offered her a brand new S4 and she picked a yellow 4-banger Mazda6 instead because it was "prettier". also she was convinced it was a V6 until we started dating and i opened up the hood to see an i4. even when i showed her she still thought it was a V6. moral of the story is that amanda, its a great thing you take pride in your car and take the time to know your stuff

 

the new Si's are slightly nicer on the inside.

they have leather wrapped steering wheels and shiftknobs. Drilled aluminum pedals. different seat cloth that's darker than the "black" cloth on the EXs.

As for the engine. the new Si's have DOHC K-series engines (with LSD). the EXs have 1.8 SOHC engines.

so, YES, the Si's are nicer.

as for the girl not knowing much about her car, it wouldn't be the first time a person bought a car on looks alone...

i'll agree with you on how nice the back ends are on the new Sis. theyre sick. but i still dont like the front end.

whats the name of the engine underhood in the new Si? isnt it k20z or something like that?
