Default My New Honda

For many years I have been riding a motorized bicycle. I first bought one in 1993 and it came with a Mitsubishi (Snapper) 24cc2-cycle engine. It got about 140 MPG and went about 22 MPH. In 1999 I purchased a Honda weedeater with aGX22 22cc 4-cycle OHV engine and mounted it on the bike. It was much faster and stronger than the Mitsubishi but I had crankshaft problems with it.The GX22 averaged 240 MPG and went about 28 MPH on the flat.

Now that the price of gas has risen (again), I decided to upgrade the bike with a new motor. I chose the Honda GX25 OHC 25cc 4-cycle. It bolts rightup tomy centrifugal drive unit and it has even more pep.Honda claims it has1.1 HP, but I think that is a conservative rating. When I get it broke in I will lean out the carb a bit and it should top out at about 30 MPH and get about 250MPG. It sounds like a bumblebee to anyone I pass, although it sounds a bit loud to me when I am riding it. These units run in the$350-$400 range and the motor itself runs about $185.

Did I mention it was OHC?I wonder when they will come out with a VTEC version. Lol......

How does it work? My friend wants to build something like that but we couldn't find any diagrams or instructions.

cderalow: That's 240 MPG. As to rocket power, I have a Honda isn't that fast enough? To be honest, at 25 miles per hour those bumps come up awful fast. Maybe in a controlled siltuation like an interstate or something one might want to go faster, but on city streets at 25 I'm hangin' on for dear life.

No one has asked yet what car is under the cover behind the bike. Hint #1: The car is older than more than a few posters here. Hint #2: the best mileage I was ever able to get with it was 15.9 MPG.
