Default New GTI.... holy ****

It was awesome. I test drove one this weekend... twice. I loved it so much, i went to another dealership and told them i was comparing it to the new Si, so they let me test drive it again. So that means that i now have two VW GTI dvd brochures. I loved it so much, im thinking about boosting my civic this summer.... Also does anyone know who many pounds of boost the factory turbo runs?

VW are not known for their reliablity. The GTI doesn't handle as well as the SI. It is faster than the SI down the strip but not around the corner.

the fast doesn't cost extra, but it's only given out for like the first 3 months. I did see one on ebay for close to a thousand though. Any way i like it's looks, however i can't compare it's cornering to the Si because i haven't drove it yet. But i can say that me and the dealer got up to like 95 on some tight back roads. If you guys get a chance, go out and check it out, i really liked it. Oh, and still does anyone know how many pounds of boost it runs?

lol...I said "My Fast" in reference to the car. I think MSRP is like $2k more than the base Si. I would love to test drive one just to see how it compares...let us know if you are able to test drive the Si and give us your personal comparison.

'06 Si was faster through the slalom than the '06 GTI per the magazine reviews....could be what he was referring too.

i drove both and I must say that I did like the GTi much better. It feels more solid and I'm a big fan of the interior. However, I do not like the exterior at all - the mkIV imo was the best looking hatch ever. Being a VW owner, I must say that I would be concerned about that car's reliability. The dealer told me that VW adressed all of the common problems and they will not be an issue in MKV, but can't take somebody's word for it, so my stance on reliability remains. A GTI will require more maintenance than any honda, which only requires oil changes for the most part.
