Hey,

Well I'm thinking about buying a skid steer and hiring it and my self out for various jobs. Anyone on here ever driven one? I am going to rent one for a few days in the spring and see if I like it. Ive always been interested in doing this kind of stuff so this may be my opportunity.

My Uncle has one, I drove it once... but just to move it to the other side of a construction site, didn't get to do anything cool. They're different, kinda akward to drive, I'm sure you'd get the hang of it in a hurry though.

 

THey look super fun and ive always been interested in heavy equiptment. Nothing like having a machine at your fingertips that can lift up 3 tons.

oh snap. that looks fun. so you buy one and try to find construction jobs? i thought a company would have there own. also how much do those run?

 

About 20K for a new one. I know quite a few people who need one every so often but can't justify buying one. Even the company I work for now rents one for a few days of every month.

20K thats alot. it will take awile to make that investment back.

 

ya i was going to say for 20,000 you should do alot of resurch and see if its worth it

 

I work with tons of equiment like that. I wish I could take pictures, I needa get a camera, I'd love to talk about them with ya anytime, pm, or aim or whatever. We have a Case full size excuvator(120k) a mini bobcat excuvator(50k) and a skid steer bob cat(50k), and other machines I've heard they run about 50k, new, and about 20k used, but I've only heard that. I do all the maintaince on our machines, for the most part atleast, you need t grease it alot. Make sure you have a heavy duty trailer and a big enough truck to tow 6,000 pounds. Try and get a bob cat or the name brand one, sorry I forgot the name, JAD, or something, no home-depot ****. Sorry if I didn't make much sense, or scrammed my points, I'm just on a piece of **** computer
