I would rather have an SC400 then SC300, cause it comes with a 400hp V8 but the same body

ive known several hyundai owners...and they were plagued with endless "little" problems...constant alignment issues, sunroofs breaking, door handle actuators breaking.

i wouldnt have one as a gift.

and how much "torque" does that NA monster make?

That's weird. It must have been some old one. I know the newer Hyundais (I suppose 2000+) are rivaling Honda in terms of reliability.

its a 2002 base model tibby...auto trans.

he has had the sunroof control system replaced 7 times now. he actually was part of a class action suit over that. he has also replaced the door handle assemblies twice (one on each side) and the exhaust manifold has been replaced twice since they got it...

the car is garage kept...its stock as a rock, so it isnt like hes trying pointlessly to make it fast...it just fails.

i had a few other customers while working as a tech who had tibbys with the sunroof problem and the door handle issue.

on top of that, the hyundai dealership has fought hard against their "best warranty in america". a while back, when the exhaust manifold began to leak again, and the sunroof hadnt worked for a while, and the final straw was when the drivers side door handle stopped working, he took it into the stealership. they looked over it, and they told him that they didnt have the door handle or sunroof stuff in stock, and that it was on backorder. also, they didnt want to do the manifold job now, and they would do it when they got the other parts in.

i called the dealership and told them that i was calling from a dodge dealership, and i had a tibby with a broken sunroof and door handle, and i needed the parts. their reply was "yeah..we have a bunch of them in stock".

the motor in it is the non-turbo 2jz w/ vvt. i know i can do a complete jdm 2jz-te swap or just turbo but it might be up for sale.
FYI, a N/A 2jz is quite different from 2jz-te. As far as I know, 2jz-te has stronger internals to withstand high pressures.

PS. when I said 2jz in my original post, I actually meant 2jz-te. I wasn't aware that sc300s come with NA 2jz motors.
the 2jz setup in it is very similar to the mkIII supra w/ the 7m-gte. how the intake manifold goes over the engine and ever thing v.s. the 2jz-gte which the intake manifold does not go over the engine.[/blockquote]

n/a they don't make anything close to a f/i one but here's one.
115hp / 124tq NA. ok it's not really that much for n/a but still more torque than horse.

250hp / 290tq http://videos.streetfire.net/search/tiburo...44DB06B370B.htm
