I was watching Ultimate cars on Discovery Channel today and I was wathcing a thing on the WRX they said the reason it's not #1 is becuase of it's crappy Fuel Milage. Apparently it's like 18 miles to the gallon. Which is terrible for the car. my dads f-150 4.6 gets like 25 miles to the gallon. Anyway... Just sharing that, Don't quote me on it. But yeah.

Yeah, Turbo and AWD don't make for good MPGs. My Cooper S has only been in the 21 mpg range... makes me miss my 40 mpg Civic.

Not sure about the others, but the ones in ram are made by cummins, and they last

 

my legacy gets total crap mileage, and it's not even turbo

but it DOES have almost 170000 miles on it

 

...which is really not a lot for an import (unless it's mazda)

 

jus got back from San Diego last night...I have a few options for my dilema:

1) nobody will finance me because it is my first car loan, and I would need a co-signer or a large amount down
- so I have a guy who wants to buy my civy for $800 and I have about another $600 to put down, so $1400 down
I had a dealership tell me that I needed $3000 down for a Acura 3.0CL<---really liked the car

2) keep my civy and drop the D15b, which I have most of the parts for already.
-But I've been getting in from my passenger side for about 2.5 months<---really sux, I'm a bigger guy and 91 hatches are small

3) or sell the Civy for $800 and use my $600 to get a used hatch with 150K

Oh and I have wanted a S10 for a while, so when I saw this one I wanted to jump on it...they were willing to sell it for $7000 (for only 100,000 miles), but they wanted $2500 down. There is no way I can get that money up.

I've asked friends to co-sign but my credit is better than all of theirs, so only person that could do it would be my pops and he's completely against me making payments

so any other options that u guys might know of would be great

*edit*- I think the Camaros and Trans ams are nice and all, but gas is something that I couldn't deal with...Tacomas are WEAK, I can't stand the look of them and IMO they are girl trucks...Now Tundras are nicer, I jus can't afford one

 

I get around 22 to 24 around town per gallon and slightly over 30 on the highway

 

forget the WRX.

i owned an 03 WRX hatch before trading it in for a CRV. I miss it now, but I didn't miss the insurance or the premium fuel requirement. they eat a hole in your wallet pretty damm quick.

so does having to service the vehicle. since it's AWD and turbo, maintenence costs were way higher than all of my hondas.

besides, there's a widely known secret among WRX owners: people drive them like they rented them, then sell them when they get bored with them.

I actually took care of mine, but you should see how people drive theirs into the ground on some of the wrx enthusiast sites.

I would probably never buy a used one unless I personally knew the owner.

I say get another civic (eg hatch, of course) or get a third gen integra (like mine of course. lol.).

both are pretty cheap and easy to get ahold of. and aftermarket parts are way cheaper and more available.

integras will have higher insurance and worse fuel mileage, but the fun you'll have in it more than compensates.

but if you must have a civic, try to locate a JDM eg hatch and personalize the hell out of it. lol.
