Ok so i know there have been a couple of paypal threads but none of them answer my question. Does anyone know if your account has to be verified to accept payments? and if not do you have to have your bank account information linked to it?

 

I know to send payments you dont, but I have never used it to accept a payment. Sorry.

 

yeah i send payments all the time with paypal using my credit card, but i have never accepted a payment, and i am thinking on selling something soon and am wondering if i can put paypal as a payment method

 

Having a verified account is just a way of telling the community that you are trustworthy and have linked a bank account to your paypal account.

You can send/recieve money without being verified, but people are a lot more weary of unverified members (Like the 10,000 something MUGUS out there trying to scam left and right)

Can you not link your bank account? It is a good idea, same with linking a card, plus then you can send money instantly instead of waiting for it to clear.

 

I dont think you need to be verified to receive money. To be verified, you need to either enter a bank account or sign up for a credit card. It's easier to withdraw the money when you're verified since it sends directly to your bank account

 

I guess short answer is "yes" you can recieve payments if you are not verified.

And I am sure if you sold something on here, nobody would care cause they know you, but elsewhere, it would be tougher than being verified.

And remember that paypal takes 3% of the payment.

 

Well i have my credit card linked but i am still not verified. and i don't wnt to link my bank account cause i only have one account. i have been thinking on creating a secondairy account and using that for it. i may just do that on my next day off
