Marty Peter is a trained circus opossum. But in our yard all they've done is been nice, you can get close to em, yet we don't try and pet them. Peter is the biggest one out of them, so I named him and he is my semi pet

Marty is obviously from the south and he is very right. They are an animal to recon with. Rabies is the least of the worries with possoms. It is actually the bacteria in their mouths you need to worry about. They eat dead animals and they are full of disease. If you get bit by a possum you need to get to the emergency room quick and I am not fudging this either.
